FAQ

Straight answers.

The questions PI firms actually ask us. If yours isn’t here, just ask.

Pricing & billing

What does Burt cost?
A flat platform fee plus a fixed fee per qualified case. The exact numbers and the worst-case math are on Pricing.
What counts as a “qualified case”?
You choose your states and practice areas, and Burt scores every lead against PI intake criteria — it only bills a lead that meets them. The full definition lives on Pricing.
What if I disagree with a charge?
You’re billed in arrears and can dispute any packet before you pay. See how the dispute flow works on Pricing.
Is there a contract?
No — month to month, no setup fee. Details on Pricing.

The AI & ethics

Will the AI give legal advice or promise an outcome?
No — it gathers facts and documents the injury; your firm keeps every engagement decision. The ethics guardrails are on Security & trust.
What happens when someone needs a real person?
Your team can take over any live conversation and Burt yields. How handoff and alerts work is on the product page.
Is what the AI says on the record?
Yes — every transcript is retained, reviewable, and attributable to your firm. More on Security & trust.

Setup & fit

How do I install it?
One line of code, or the WordPress plugin — most firms are live the same morning. The steps are on Get started.
Does Burt handle text messaging?
Yes — a dedicated line with opt-in and STOP/HELP handling. See the full channel list on Integrations.
Does it connect to my CRM?
Website, WordPress, text, and data export work today; direct connectors are rolling out now. Current status is on Integrations.
Is it bilingual?
Yes — Burt handles intake in English and Spanish.

Data & security

Is my firm’s data separated from other firms?
Yes, at the database layer — one firm can never reach another’s. How isolation is enforced is on Security & trust.
Is my data used to train AI models?
No — our providers process it under no-training terms. The full data handling is on Security & trust.
Who else touches the data?
A short list of named providers, each getting only what it needs. The grid is on Security & trust.
